Count the floors you occupy, not the building. A ground-floor shop under two flats is one floor.
Hotels, guest houses, HMOs and care homes are always yes. For anything else, we ask. Warehouses, gyms, halls and schools get one more: roughly how big the biggest floor is, compared with a tennis court.
A fire risk assessment carried out at your premises by a vetted local assessor, recorded in full as Section 156 of the Building Safety Act 2022 has required since October 2023, whatever the number of employees. The report is written to PAS 79-1:2020 for business premises and BS 9792:2025 for housing, which is what an insurer, a licensing officer or the fire service expects to see.
RiskSorted Ltd is the contractor. We set the price, hold the contract and stand behind the work. The assessor who attends is a local specialist we have checked for qualifications and insurance, matched to your building under BS 8674:2025. If anything goes wrong, you ring us, not them.
