Typical prices for the services a high street business buys. Every figure is a range because no two premises are the same. You get a fixed price for yours before anything is booked.
Small premises means a single shop, café or studio with a handful of staff. Medium means an office or shop with roughly 5 to 49 people. Larger sites and anywhere people sleep are priced on the building itself.
London and complicated buildings sit towards the top of each range. Evening and weekend work costs more. Remedial work found on the day is always quoted separately and only goes ahead if you agree.
| Premises | Typical price ex VAT |
|---|---|
| Small premises such as a single shop or café | £290 to £400 |
| Office or shop with roughly 5 to 49 people | £390 to £800 |
| Larger sites and anywhere people sleep | From £750 |
What moves the price: Floors, floor area and whether anyone sleeps on site. Hotels, HMOs and care homes need a more experienced assessor under BS 8674:2025. The assessment is a legal duty and you review it yourself each year.

|---|---|
| Small low risk premises | £300 to £400 |
| Office or shop with roughly 5 to 49 people | £380 to £500 |
| Larger sites with 50 or more people | £700 to £900 |
What moves the price: The number of people and how hazardous the work is. Kitchens, gyms and workshops take longer than a quiet shop. If someone on your team is competent to do it, it costs only their time.

A price list cannot see your building. Two shops of the same size can need very different things. So we look first and fix the price after.
That is what the free health and safety check is for. You find out what you need and what it should cost. You keep the findings whether you book with us or not.
The ranges draw on prices that suppliers publish online. They line up with the typical figures in the independent buying guides at Compliance Buyer. Compliance Buyer is published by our director David Smith. It sells nothing and is not a route to RiskSorted.
